Last week I was honored to receive CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for scoring a perfect 100 on the scorecard of the American Conservative Union. To give you a sense of comparison, the majority of the GOP caucus members scored between 50% and 69%. Members of the GOP leadership were mostly in the 40% range. A handful of Democrats scored higher than some Republicans. Here’s the full scorecard: https://acu-ratings-pdfs.s3.amazonaws.com/ACU_Ratings_SC-2023.pdf
When I was in the classroom I would’ve had to have called the parents about these sorts of grades.
It turns out that when you vote the way that you campaign and deny tax dollars to special interests it tends to tick off those special interests and their pet politicians. For the past several months several shady operators with strong ties to the leadership of both parties (the Columbia Cartel) have been trying to induce challengers to those of us who scored more than 90% on the CPAC scorecard. These folks have been promising up to $50,000 for anyone who opposes one of us?
Why? Because thanks to strong, active supporters like you we’ve begun to right the ship and therefore we’re threatening their power. In short: they’re scared.
And they should be. SC has been the bluest red state for far too long. I hope you’ll join me for my re-election kickoff on Saturday, February 10th from 11:30-1:30pm. Location, special guests, and RSVP link will be released soon!
Also, I started a podcast recently with my good friend Joshua Gale to discuss how faith intersects with SC politics. You can check it out here: https://currentsituationpodcast.com/
