I hope this message finds you well and filled with the same enthusiasm for liberty that drives our work every day. There have been significant developments in the halls of the South Carolina House, and I'm excited to share them with you.
### 1. Standing Firm: Bans on Youth Sex Changes
In the face of intense debate and opposition, we stood firm in defense of our children's well-being and the sanctity of parental rights. The recent ban on youth sex changes, as reported by (https://www.fitsnews.com/2024/01/18/south-carolina-house-bans-youth-sex-changes-after-heated-debate/), underscores our commitment to protecting South Carolina's youth from irreversible decisions.

### 2. Holding Accountable: Fighting for Tougher Punishments
As your representative, it is my duty to ensure that justice is served and our communities remain safe. I stand with you in advocating for tougher punishments for the most heinous offenders, as highlighted in this recent (https://www.yahoo.com/news/sc-representative-wants-tougher-punishment-041906174.html) article. I will continue to push for legislation that prioritizes the safety and well-being of all South Carolinians.
### 3. Making the Uniparty Nervous
Assistant S.C. House majority leader Jay West, along with the Democrat Senate Minority Leader Brad Hutto, openly criticized members of the Freedom Caucus as "crazies" during a panel discussion hosted by the Carolinas Natural Gas Association. West urged special interests to help recruit and finance candidates to run against Freedom Caucus members in the upcoming legislative elections, emphasizing the need for "more normal people in Columbia." Freedom Caucus representatives Jordan Pace and Josiah Magnuson condemned the comments, stating they confirmed their suspicions of GOP leadership collaborating with Democrats against conservative members. The Freedom Caucus faces opposition from uniparty leaders, and recent attack ads aligned with the leaders' rhetoric suggest a coordinated effort to undermine them. This means we’re making progress in draining the Columbia Swamp!

### 4 Texas and Biden
After Governor Abbott’s statement that he would continue to defend the border despite the unlawful inaction of the Biden administration, I felt compelled to write a resolution to urge South Carolina’s leadership to offer support to Texas. Governor McMaster sent members of the SC National Guard to assist Texas last spring. I was encouraged that several hours I filed my resolution in the House, the Governor joined the chorus of other governors across the country in support of Texas’s efforts.
### Get Involved!
Your continued support and engagement are essential to our success. I encourage you to stay informed, stay active, and join us in the fight for liberty and justice in South Carolina. Together, we can overcome any challenge and build a brighter future for generations to come.
The next email will have a big announcement about the kickoff for my re-election campaign!
Sincerely,
Jordan Pace
