Late last week I was asked to speak at press conference for President Trump to talk about my experience dealing with Nikki Haley here in SC. Here’s the VIDEO
Here’s a short rundown several bills the House has passed over the last two weeks:
H 4700: Requires parental consent and age verification for minors to use social media. The original committee amendment had an Orwellian requirement for the Dept of Ed to develop a misinformation/disinformation program to implement into government schools. Thankfully, due to public outcry and internal pressure from principled conservatives, this measure was removed from the bill when it came to the floor.
H 3424: This bill would protect our children from inappropriate online content, particularly pornographic material. It places the responsibility on commercial entities to implement robust age verification methods on their websites. More than a dozen other states have implemented similar legislation in the last few years and they’ve seen a dramatic decrease in the access of these websites by minors.
H 3992: This bill will allow businesses across the state an opportunity to catch up if they’re behind on paying unemployment taxes without the large penalty that’s currently in place. Typically it’s small, family-owned businesses that get in these binds, so if the Senate gives their stamp of approval then these businesses will get some much-needed relief.
What’s coming up…
H 3594: The Constitutional Carry bill that the House passed last year was sent back to us with several contemptible and odious changes made by the Senate Majority Leader who has been publicly against the bill from the start. The pressure from grassroots activists over the past week has been immense and, it seems, effective! We got word that the Senate will support a good-faith conference committee when we vote to non-concur with their changes. Keep the pressure on both chambers until we finally get this well-overdue bill signed into law!
Lastly, don’t forget about the BBQ Re-election kickoff tomorrow! Come hungry and bring a friend! Here’s the link to RSVP
